Aims Community College Partners With TalkCampus as a Continuum of Their Current Support Services.

"We feel that this service will help students connect in meaningful ways about topics of concerns"

Aims Community College is a fully accredited two-year public college with multiple locations in northern Colorado and is the latest institute to partner with TalkCampus. Aims students will now be part of a supportive global community and have access to 24/7 support via their smartphones.

The team at Aims wanted to offer a mental health support platform that was intuitive and familiar, as a way of easing those students who were unsure of connecting directly with their wellbeing team into a preventative support network.

TalkCampus will complement and work seamlessly alongside their existing student support services and the platform will be specifically customized with the Aims student services embedded within the application. Students will be able to talk with students all around the globe whilst having support options specific to their needs and place of study.

"Aims Community College is pleased to be using TalkCampus to extend the continuum of care to our students. We feel that this service will help students connect in meaningful ways about topics of concern. It will also help facilitate the referral process into other services including case management and counseling." Richard Hanks, Director, Counseling & CARE at Aims Community College.

TalkCampus is a global community that is truly diverse, supporting institutions from 5 continents across 25 languages. International students from Aims will be able to connect with other students in their own language, which we know is important for mental health as people with high levels of connectedness are better able to manage their own needs and emotions.

Peer-to-peer support is an incredibly powerful tool for wellbeing, as research shows that bringing people together is the most protective factor against deteriorating mental health. TalkCampus can ease people into taking those difficult first steps to seek support, and we are thrilled to be able to offer this support to Aims students” - Jennifer Russel, Clinical Director at TalkCampus.
