After recognising the ongoing impact the pandemic has had on students, Northern College of Ontario has introduced peer-to-peer support platform TalkCampus, allowing students to access a community of support while they continue to be discouraged from meeting in person.
TalkCampus is a welcomed addition to Northern College’s existing student support services, filling a gap in the current framework by providing students with instant support from the ease of their phone, wherever they are, whenever they need it.

TalkCampus’s real-time escalation of at-risk students back into the college was one of the key elements that made this such a valuable offering to the Northern College team. The platform keeps students safe through the use of unique machine learning classifiers, trained peer supporters and a team of professional and clinical staff 24/7. This combination of support allows TalkCampus to provide real time escalation and moderation at a massive scale, enabling students at risk to be identified within milliseconds and connected with timely, relevant support.
