As part of their ongoing dedication to overcoming the stigma of mental health amongst their student population, Southwest Texas Junior College has launched TalkCampus, a service they hope will have a significant impact toward mental health awareness on campus.
The team at SWTJC partnered with peer-to-peer platform TalkCampus to help streamline their existing services for at-risk students, and help to encourage more students to utilise the mental health services that are available at the college. The app is customised for SWTJC students, with all of SWTJC student services embedded in the application. Students will be able to talk with others worldwide while also having support options specific to their needs and place of study.

A combination of peer support, machine-learning and innovative design, TalkCampus offers a community of support to help normalise concerns and issues, such as academic anxieties, isolation and life’s ups and downs. The platform also provides much needed social connection in the current times, with like-minded people, in a non-judgmental environment.
